Travel: Prague: An Overview

Back at the end of February I visited Prague, I had heard so many people rave about the beauty of the city, its buildings and how cheap it was to visit.

Me and my friend booked to go happy with our destination, we stayed just outside Prague in Andel and we were unfortunately booked into the wrong hotel (that's a story for another day.) Despite this our holiday was not ruined and we saw some breathtaking sights!

On our first day we had a wander round the main square where we saw the Astronomical Clock - which was probably my favourite sight. There were queues of people waiting in the square for an event and being the typical English people we are we stood and waited with them. We had no idea what was going on! Turns out they had Roger Federer and Tomas Berdych there to give talks about the Laver Cup.
My first ever celebrity sighting and I have to say it was a highlight!

We wandered down to the Charles Bridge which is a stunning structure and went up the tower to get a view of the city surrounding us. We were then pointed in the right direction for the John Lennon wall which is a magnificent piece of graffiti art.

We paid for a guided tour with a 3 course meal and a river cruise, which gained us entry to Prague castle for a view around. The three course meal was at this beautiful restaurant up by the castle, I can't remember the name of it for the life of me! The tour consisted of walking around the general sights nothing too special, but you got cake and beer or wine with the river cruise! Which was a cute idea even if I hated the cake.

We visited the Prague Zoo which while it is a bit out of the way, it is easy to get to via metro and bus. Main highlight here being they had Polar Bears - I have never visited a zoo where they have had polar bears before.

I have so many stories and moments to share in seperate blog posts but I just wanted to give you an overview of the sights of Prague if you were interested in visiting. I would highly recommend it esepcially if you love culture there is so much to see and learn about and the whole city has a quaint atmosphere that makes you feel so relaxed.

Prague has to be one of the most beautiful cities I have visited and I would definitely visit again.
