How My 2016 Went

2016 has flown by and we're all getting ready to welcome in a new year.

So I thought I would share with you all what 2016 was like for me.

There were some amazing highs I visited New York for the first time it's been at the top of my bucket list since I was around 13.
This holiday was fantastic and despite me getting ill the day before going I powered through and honestly I loved it. The sights were everything I'd imagined and more. My favourite had to be the Empire State Building at night it was stunning!

I started a distance learning degree with my work. Progression and all that once I complete this job will have a Bachelor of Science. I've finished two modules so far and have achieved solid 2:1 marks in both. Wasn't sure how I was going to fare with uni work but turns out I'm managing it rather well.

I met some new people and became closer with current friends. While these new connections may not have lasted everything is a live and learn situation and the fact that I'm closer than ever with my friends is just a great way to end the year.

I completed Blogmas if you're a procrastinator like I am this is a huge achievement! A new festive blog each day for 25 days that's hard work!

Talking to more fellow bloggers on twitter has been good fun! I have definitely been slacking in this area since June time but I've enjoyed getting involved in some of the chats and being part of the girl gang.

I took part in the Colour Run and have managed to keep going to padfit classes for a whole year. Yay for exercise even if I still am amazingly unfit. The colour run was a fun experience and something I'd definitely do again.

I visited Nice and went round different parts of the South of France and even had a quick day trip to Italy the sites were beautiful, I loved the food and the weather was gorgeous.

I got over 1000 views in one day on my blog - this does not happen to me I guarantee that. So it felt somewhat like an achievement.

Now onto the negatives of this year because you know what they say better out than in. This year for me has been very challenging for many different reasons all summing up to I've faced a lot of loss this year.

We had a loss in the family which I'm not going to go into too much detail about but it was a very hard period of time and I don't feel this year got better from that point out.

I lost someone who I thought was a close friend but I have recently found out a few things that had been said behind my back. So what may have felt like a loss at one point turned into a gain. You don't need people in your life who say one thing to your face and another behind your back. Better to know someone's true colours than stay friends with someone who does not have your best interests at heart.

The Nice holiday had a very disastrous aspect to it in that my friend got robbed by our hotel (anyone needs a recommendation on a hotel not to stay at in Nice drop me a message). So while the sights were stunning everything was tinged with an aspect of stress and sadness from that point and it just seemed like no one was on our side. We managed to continue the holiday and do everything we wanted but it was all a tad bittersweet to put it nicely.

Overall 2016 started off amazing with a lot of hope and promise and fantastic ideas, it then all went abit awry in the last half of the year and I feel like I had a loss of my own identity abit and what I wanted to achieve.
However Christmas lifted my spirits I came to terms with a few things that I cannot change and I reconnected with some good friends. So I'm ending what has been a very crummy last half to the year on a positive note!
I'm ending it with lots of new ideas and plans. I will be travelling to new places next year. I will not let myself get so down about the things I cannot change and I will start believing in myself that little bit more.

It's all about positivity and you know what they say fake it till you make it.

So goodbye 2016 the first half of the year was fun!
